A circular deck carried on a ribbed drum that tapers into a smaller foot, this table keeps a small footprint while reading as a solid piece of furniture. It works in apartment living rooms, beside a reading chair, or at the end of a short sofa where a rectangular top would block the path. The deck and the ribbed body are molded MDF under a sealed finish, with the channels running vertically around the drum and stopping at a flat base ring. The pedestal is a separate narrower cylinder, which is what gives the silhouette its lifted look and leaves toe room beneath the body. Because the ribs are cut rather than printed, they cast their own shadow as light moves across the room. Overall dimensions: 31.49 in. L x 17.91 in. W x 13.77 in. H. The deck spans 31.49 in. while the pedestal narrows to 17.91 in., so the table can sit close to a sofa arm and still leave space for feet below, and the shallow height keeps the surface under the cushions. The wide flat ring at the bottom spreads load evenly on carpet and hard flooring. The body and the pedestal are packed as two pieces that seat together without tools beyond the fittings supplied. A soft brush clears dust from the grooves, and a barely damp cloth cleans marks on the flat deck; standing water should not be left in the channels. Lift the drum when moving it, since the base sits directly on the floor.
