What is Miracid used for?

It feeds acid-loving plants such as azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias and hydrangeas. The high-nitrogen 30-10-10 formula plus iron supports green growth and bloom.

How often should I apply it?

The label effect lasts 7 to 14 days, so feed every two weeks during the growing season. Stop feeding in late summer so plants harden off before winter.

Does it lower soil pH?

Not much on its own. It feeds acid-lovers and supplies iron, but if your soil is alkaline you still need sulfur or peat to shift pH.

How much does the 1 lb box cover?

Coverage depends on dilution, but the box feeds roughly 400 square feet at typical rates. Measure per the label rather than eyeballing it.

No. Miracid is a synthetic fertilizer, though it carries an OMRI listing for the input materials. Organic-only gardeners should choose a different product.

Spring, when azalea and hydrangea feeding peaks, tends to bring the deepest discounts. The current $7.49 at McCoy's Building Supply is already near the low end.
