The Modway Exalt is a 75-inch velvet sofa with button tufting, track arms and a 22-inch seat depth. It stands out for a 900 lb weight capacity, well above most fabric sofas in this price class. Pros
  • 900 lb weight capacity is high for a velvet sofa
  • Button tufting and track arms give a tailored look
  • 75-inch length fits rooms where 84-inch sofas are too long
  • Velvet upholstery at a price near $525
  • 22-inch seat depth suits most seated adults
Cons
  • Velvet shows lint, pet hair and body oils
  • Tufted seats trap crumbs and are harder to vacuum
  • 33-inch depth is shallow for lounging or napping
  • No mention of removable or washable covers
  • Only 10 ratings, so the 4.1 score rests on thin data

Questions and answers

Is the Modway Exalt sofa worth $524.99?
At $524.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026, it is the lowest of the 5 new prices. You get velvet, tufting and a 900 lb capacity, which is more than most sofas near $500 offer.
How does it compare with the Modway Engage or other Modway sofas?
The Exalt is the tufted velvet option at 75 inches long. Modway's other lines use different upholstery and arm styles, so pick based on fabric and length rather than price alone.
Will it fit in a small apartment?
At 75 inches long and 33 inches deep, it fits most small living rooms but not tight studio layouts. Measure the delivery path, since a 75-inch frame must clear doorways and hallways.
What is the seat depth and weight limit?
The seat depth is 22 inches and the maximum weight capacity is 900 lb. The 22-inch depth suits most adults sitting upright but is shallow for lying down.
How do I clean the velvet?
Vacuum with a soft brush attachment and blot spills right away. Velvet covers here are not listed as removable, so deep cleaning means upholstery shampoo applied in place.
When is it cheapest?
It is $524.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026, the lowest of 5 stores. Sofa prices usually dip around major holiday sales, so check the price history before buying.
Where is the Modway Exalt Tufted Sofa cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $524.99, 23% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Modway Exalt Tufted Sofa?
Rated 4.1 out of 5 from 10 ratings.
