Is the Modway Impart sofa worth it?

At $786.73 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is one of the cheaper genuine leather sofas you can buy. You trade size and plushness for real leather and a solid frame.

How many people does it seat?

Two adults comfortably. The seat is 63 inches wide, so a third person would be squeezed.

Is it real leather or bonded leather?

Modway lists it as genuine leather. Expect a corrected or split leather at this price, not full-grain, so condition it regularly.

How firm is the seat?

Firm. Spring coils under dense foam give support rather than a deep sink-in feel, which suits people with back issues but not fans of soft couches.

No. You attach the tapered legs and back, which takes about 15 to 20 minutes with the included hardware.

Our take on the Modway Impart Genuine Leather Sofa

The Modway Impart is a small two-seat sofa in genuine leather with a mid-century look: tapered legs, a low cushion back and a tight 70.5-inch footprint. Spring coil support under dense foam gives it a firmer sit than a plain foam couch, and the frame is solid wood with CARB P2 plywood. It seats two comfortably and holds up to 662 lbs. The best new price is $786.73 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with 9 stores listing it new.

Pros

Genuine leather upholstery at a low price for the material
Compact 70.5-inch width fits apartments and offices
Spring coil support plus dense foam for a firmer seat
Solid wood and CARB P2 plywood frame
662 lb weight capacity is high for a small sofa

Cons

Seats only two; 63-inch seat width is tight for three
Low 14.5-inch back gives little head and shoulder support
Leather needs conditioning and shows scratches and sun fading
Firm sit is not for people who want to sink in
