Our take on the Mohawk RevWood Plus Laminate Flooring

RevWood Plus is Mohawk's laminate plank line with a matte finish, a click-lock floating install, and a water-resistant core. The 10 mm thickness puts it above thin 7–8 mm laminates, which helps with sound and underfoot feel. It is a DIY-friendly floor for most rooms, including kitchens and baths with prompt spill cleanup. We have no current price data for it, so compare per-square-foot quotes across stores before buying.

Questions and answers

Is RevWood Plus waterproof?
It is water-resistant, not waterproof. Spills and damp mopping are fine, but standing water or a slow leak can swell the core. Wipe up spills promptly and seal perimeter gaps in wet areas.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. The click-lock system floats over a flat subfloor with no glue. You need a tapping block, spacers, a saw and a moisture barrier or underlayment. Allow a 1/4-inch expansion gap at walls.
How does it compare with RevWood Select?
RevWood Plus is the thicker, more water-resistant tier in the RevWood laminate family. Select is generally thinner and less protected. Check the wear rating and warranty on the exact SKU, since they vary by collection.
What thickness should I look for?
10 mm is a good middle ground. It feels more solid and dampens sound better than 7–8 mm laminate, without the cost of 12 mm. Thicker planks also span minor subfloor imperfections better.
Can it go over concrete or radiant heat?
Yes, over dry concrete with a moisture barrier, and over radiant heat if the system stays within the manufacturer's temperature limits. Test concrete moisture first; trapped moisture is the main cause of laminate failure.
When is the best time to buy?
Flooring sales cluster around holiday weekends and end-of-season clearances. Compare the per-square-foot price plus underlayment and trim, since those add 10–20% to the project cost.
