Yes, if you can run a 230V circuit and mount the indoor and outdoor units. The QuickConnect line set comes pre-charged, so you do not need a vacuum pump or gauges. Check local codes and MRCOOL's warranty terms before starting.

How cold can it heat?

MRCOOL rates it for heating down to -22°F. Output drops as temperatures fall, so size it for your room's heat load rather than the full 18,000 BTU at extreme cold.

What size room does 18,000 BTU cover?

About 500 to 800 sq ft, depending on ceiling height, insulation and windows. Sunny or poorly insulated rooms should be sized at the lower end.

What electrical setup does it need?

A dedicated 208/230V circuit with a 25A double-pole breaker and properly sized wire. A licensed electrician is the safe route if you are not comfortable with panel work.

The indoor air handler, outdoor condenser, a 25 ft QuickConnect line set, and the remote. Drain line and mounting hardware are included; the electrical disconnect and wiring are typically supplied by the installer.

Is the 5th Gen worth it over the 4th Gen?

The 5th Gen adds R-454B refrigerant, higher efficiency ratings and Hyper Heat cold-weather operation. If you need subzero heating or want the newer refrigerant, the 5th Gen is the better pick.
