Our take on the Muslin Comfort Ultra Lightweight 6 Layer Muslin Blanket

This is a 100% cotton muslin blanket built from six layers of gauze, sold in an oversized 110-by-110-inch queen size that drapes past the mattress edges. The open-weave muslin is meant to breathe and regulate temperature, so it works as a lightweight bedspread in warm rooms or a layering piece in cool ones. It weighs about 6 lbs in king size, light enough to wash at home. No current price was provided, so check the price history before buying.

Best forHot sleepers who want a breathable bedspreadPeople who dislike top sheets and prefer one light layerCovering a queen or king bed down to the floorGuest rooms and warm-climate bedrooms
Pros
  • Six layers of 100% cotton muslin breathe well and resist overheating
  • Oversized 110-inch square covers the bed and hides the mattress and box spring
  • Light at roughly 6 lbs, so it is easy to move and wash
  • Natural cotton fiber, no synthetic fill
  • Works as a bedspread or a layering blanket year-round
Cons
  • No price listed here, so value is hard to judge without checking history
  • Muslin gauze is thin and offers little warmth on its own
  • Oversized dimensions may overwhelm a small room or a twin bed
  • Light colors and open weave can show stains and snags
  • Six-layer cotton can shrink or wrinkle after washing if not cared for

Questions and answers

Is this blanket warm enough for winter?
On its own, no. Six layers of muslin cotton are light and breathable, so most people use it as a summer bedspread or layer it over a duvet in winter.
What size bed does the 110-inch blanket fit?
The 110-by-110-inch size is an oversized queen that drapes well past the edges and can cover a king bed. It will be too large for a twin.
How do I wash a muslin blanket?
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low. Cotton muslin can shrink, so avoid hot water and high heat.
Does it hide the mattress and box spring?
Yes. The oversized square hangs over the sides, which is why it is sold as a bedspread rather than a throw.
Is it worth the price?
That depends on the current price, which was not provided. Compare it against its recent price range before buying, since six-layer cotton muslin blankets vary widely in cost.
What do buyers say about the Muslin Comfort Ultra Lightweight 6 Layer Muslin Blanket?
