Do I need a box spring with this bed?

No. The frame includes a solid wood slat foundation, so a mattress sits directly on the slats. That also means you skip the extra cost and height of a box spring.

How hard is assembly?

Nectar lists tool-free assembly, which is easier than most platform beds that need an Allen key and two people. Plan on two people anyway for lifting the headboard and rails.

Will it hold a heavy mattress and two adults?

The 700 lb weight capacity covers most mattresses plus two adults. Slat spacing matters for foam mattresses; check that the slats are close enough for your mattress warranty.

What sizes does it come in?

It is sold in multiple sizes, including Queen and King. The King measures about 161 cm wide, 214 cm long and 104 cm tall, so measure your room and doorway before ordering.

Is it good for a foam mattress?

Yes. A slat foundation gives foam mattresses airflow and firm support without a box spring. Confirm the slat gap meets your mattress maker's warranty requirement.

When is the best time to buy?

Nectar runs frequent promotions around holidays and mattress sales events. Compare the current price with its recent range before buying.

Our take on the Nectar Platform Bed Frame with Headboard, Queen

The Nectar Platform Bed Frame is an upholstered platform bed with a button-tufted headboard and a solid wood slat foundation, so no box spring is needed.
