Does the Nesco VS-04R come with bags?

Yes. The listing states bags are included, so you can start sealing out of the box.

Can I use bags from a roll?

Yes. It has a space for a plastic roll and a cutting blade, so you can make custom-size bags.

Is it good for sealing moist foods like raw meat?

It is a basic sealer without a dedicated moist mode. Pat foods dry and seal in short bursts to avoid liquid being pulled into the machine.

How does $35.99 compare with other vacuum sealers?

That is at the low end for a countertop sealer. Mid-range models usually add stronger pumps, double seals or accessory ports.

Does it work with jars or canisters?

No jar or canister port is listed. Plan on using bags only.

When is the best time to buy it?

Budget sealers like this see the deepest discounts around Black Friday and holiday sales. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Nesco VACUUM SEALER VS-04R-6

The Nesco VS-04R is a basic white countertop vacuum sealer with a built-in bag roll holder and cutting blade, so you can size bags from a roll instead of buying only pre-cut ones. It has an indicator light and comes with starter bags. At $35.99 at Blain's Farm & Fleet as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a starter vacuum sealer costs, which fits a machine of this class. It is a simple entry point for light sealing, not a heavy-duty appliance.
