Questions and answers

Is the Newair Luma worth it?
If you want frozen drinks at home without crushing ice, it is a reasonable buy at $184.99 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026. It suits small gatherings of up to 8 servings. For large parties, a bigger two-tank machine makes more sense.
How long does it take to make slush?
Newair claims slush in as little as 15 minutes. Real times depend on how cold your mix is and its sugar or alcohol content. Pre-chilled mix freezes fastest.
Can I make alcoholic drinks like margaritas?
Yes, Newair lists margaritas as a top use. High-alcohol mixes freeze more slowly and may stay softer. Keep the alcohol ratio moderate for a firm slush.
How do I clean it?
The tank and dispensing parts are removable and dishwasher-safe, and there is a rinsing function. Rinse soon after use so residue does not harden in the spout.
How big is it and where does it fit?
It measures 7 inches wide, 16.9 inches deep and 17.7 inches tall and weighs 26.9 lbs. It needs a flat counter spot near an outlet and some overhead clearance for filling.
What comes in the box?
You get the slushie maker, the 88 oz freezing container and the dispensing handle assembly. Check the listing for any scoop or recipe guide, since bundle contents vary by store.
