Is the Macally bedside lamp good for reading in bed?

It is better as ambient or night-light lighting than as a reading lamp. The warm white glow and small size limit how much focused light it throws on a page.

Can I charge my phone from the lamp?

Yes. It has built-in USB charging ports, so you can plug a phone or other device into the base. Expect standard USB charging speeds, not fast charging.

How does the touch switch work?

It uses a three-way touch switch, so tapping cycles through brightness levels rather than a single on/off. That lets you set a dim glow for the night.

Is $23.99 a good price for it?

It is the best new price among the 8 stores that list it, as of November 7, 2026. That puts it at the low end of its recent range, so it is a reasonable time to buy.

What color and size is it?

It comes in white and is sold in one size, described as small. Check the listed height against your nightstand if you need a specific footprint.
