Our take on the Nimo Light Gaming Laptop AMD Ryzen 5 32GB SSD

The Nimo Light Gaming Laptop is a 15.6-inch 1080p notebook with an AMD Ryzen 5 quad-core CPU, 8 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD and a fingerprint reader, listed at 3.8 lb. Its standout claims are the 4.7 GHz boost clock, a backlit keyboard and a matte screen, but the 2-hour battery rating is very short for a portable machine. The latest best price of $599.99 as of October 30 sits at the bottom of its recent range, which ran from $599.99 to $629.89 through November 1. At that price it is a budget gaming entry, not a premium one.

Questions and answers

Is the Nimo Light Gaming Laptop worth it at $599.99?
At $599.99 as of October 30 it is at the low end of its recent $599.99 to $629.89 range, so the price is fair for the specs. Judge it as a light-gaming machine: 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD are the main limits.
Can it run modern games?
The specs list a quad-core Ryzen 5 but no dedicated graphics card, so expect older and lighter titles at reduced settings rather than new AAA games. Check the exact GPU before buying if a specific game matters.
How long does the battery last?
The rated battery life is 2 hours, which is short even for a gaming laptop. Plan on keeping the charger nearby for anything beyond a short session.
Is 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD enough?
8 GB is the minimum for most current games and gets tight with a browser open; 256 GB holds only a handful of large installs. Both are usually upgradeable on laptops like this, so confirm before buying.
What is in the box?
The listing does not detail box contents beyond the laptop itself. Expect the laptop and a power adapter, and confirm with the store if you need anything else.
When is it cheapest?
Its lowest recent price was $599.99 on October 30, against a high of $629.89 on November 1. The spread is only about $30, so waiting rarely saves much.
Is the Nimo Light Gaming Laptop AMD Ryzen 5 32GB SSD at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $599.99 at Walmart on October 30.
