Our take on the Nina 2.8Cu.Ft Portable Washing Machine With Glass Cover

The Nina 2.8 Cu. Ft. Portable Washing Machine is a full-automatic top-load washer with a glass lid, built for tight spaces like apartments, dorms and RVs. It offers 10 wash programs and 8 water levels, and its 20 lb capacity handles a small household's weekly laundry in one or two loads. It is a compact, budget-oriented machine rather than a full-size replacement. No current price was provided, so check the latest store comparison before buying.

Best forApartment and dorm dwellers with no laundry hookup roomRV and cabin owners who want an onboard washerSingles and couples with small weekly loadsRenters who want a portable unit they can move
Pros
  • Full-automatic operation: fill, wash, rinse and spin without manual steps
  • 10 wash programs and 8 water levels cover delicates through heavy cottons
  • 20 lb capacity is generous for a portable unit
  • Glass lid lets you watch the cycle and check water level
  • Top-load design fits closets, bathrooms and RV bays
Cons
  • Portable units typically need a sink or hose hookup and a nearby drain
  • Spin speeds on compact washers leave clothes damper than a full-size machine
  • 20 lb capacity is well below a standard 4+ cu. ft. top-loader
  • Listed as a washer-dryer combo, but compact combos usually dry slowly and in small batches
  • Few owner ratings so far, so long-term reliability is unproven

Questions and answers

Is the Nina portable washer worth it?
For renters, dorm residents or RV owners without a laundry room, yes: it is full-automatic and fits where a standard washer cannot. If you have hookups and wash for a family, a full-size machine cleans more per load for less effort.
How much can it wash at once?
The drum is rated at 20 lbs, roughly a week of clothes for one or two people. Bulky items like queen comforters will not fit.
Does it need to be hooked up to plumbing?
Portable washers of this type usually connect to a kitchen or bathroom faucet with the included hose and drain into a sink or tub. Check that your faucet takes a standard adapter.
Does it really dry clothes?
It is listed as a washer-dryer combo, but compact combo drying is slow and takes small batches. Most owners air-dry or use a separate dryer for best results.
How does it compare with a full-size top-loader?
It costs less, plugs into a standard outlet and moves easily, but it holds far less and spins less water out. Choose it for space, not for volume.
When is the best time to buy?
Compact washers tend to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Compare prices across stores and check the price history before buying.
What do buyers say about the Nina 2.8Cu.Ft Portable Washing Machine With Glass Cover?
