Is the v1 Switch worth buying over the V2 or OLED?

Only if the price gap is large. The V2 runs noticeably longer per charge, and the OLED has a brighter 7-inch screen and a better kickstand. At $159.95 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, the v1 is the cheapest way into the Switch library.

How long does the battery last?

Nintendo rates the v1 at roughly 2.5 to 6.5 hours depending on the game. Demanding titles like Zelda sit near the low end; lighter games run closer to the top.

Do I need a microSD card?

Yes for most people. The console has 32GB built in, and system software takes part of that. A microSDHC card is the supported format for expanding storage.

What comes in the box?

The console, dock, power adapter, HDMI cable, two Joy-Con, Joy-Con straps and a Joy-Con grip, plus the original box per this listing.

Does it support 4K or Bluetooth headphones?

No 4K; output tops out at 1080p over HDMI. The v1 has no native Bluetooth audio, so wired headphones go into the 3.5mm jack.

Original-model Switch prices tend to drop around Black Friday and during console clearance events. Track the price history before buying.

It ships with two Joy-Con controllers, a dock, a grip, straps, an HDMI cable and a power adapter. This listing is the v1 hardware, which uses the older, less efficient Tegra chip; the later V2 and OLED models run longer per charge.
