Our take on the novelinks Round Knitting Looms Set - Set of 5 Plastic Looms Knitting with 1 Knitting Yarn Loom Needle and 1 Plastic Loom Pick

A set of five clear plastic round knitting looms in graduated sizes, sold with one yarn loom needle and one plastic loom pick. The looms are manual and peg-based, so you wrap yarn around the pegs and lift stitches over with the pick instead of using two needles. The clear frames let you see the work underneath, which helps beginners spot dropped stitches. It is a low-cost starter kit for small round projects like hats, scarves and socks, aimed at kids and new knitters.

Questions and answers

Is this set worth it for a beginner?
Yes, if you want to try loom knitting cheaply. The five sizes cover most small round projects, and the clear plastic makes it easy to see your stitches. Expect to look up a basic wrap-and-lift tutorial, since instructions are usually not included.
What can you make with round looms?
Hats, cowls, scarves knit in the round, socks, and small bags. Flat pieces like blankets need a long rectangular loom or straight needles instead.
What yarn works with these looms?
Medium worsted-weight yarn is the easiest to start with. Very thick yarn crowds the pegs, and very thin yarn slips off and makes loose stitches.
Is it suitable for kids?
The set is marketed for kids and the motion is simple, but the pegs are small and the pick has a point. Supervise younger children and check that pegs are not bent.
What is in the box?
Five round plastic looms in graduated sizes, one yarn loom needle, and one plastic loom pick. Yarn and patterns are not included.
When is the price lowest?
Sets like this often drop around back-to-school and holiday craft sales. Check the price history before buying, since list prices for plastic loom sets move little otherwise.
