Our take on the Novilla Gel Memory Hybrid Mattress

The Novilla Gel Memory Hybrid is a 14-inch king mattress that pairs gel-infused memory foam with an innerspring core under a Eurotop cover. The gel foam is meant to sleep cooler than plain memory foam, while the coils add bounce and edge support that all-foam beds lack. At 14 inches it is a tall bed, so deep-pocket sheets matter. It is a budget-leaning hybrid aimed at shoppers who want a springy feel without paying premium-brand prices.

Questions and answers

Is the Novilla Gel Memory Hybrid good for side sleepers?
It can work for side sleepers who like a medium feel, but the coil core makes it firmer than a plush all-foam bed. Very light side sleepers may find the Eurotop not cushioned enough at the shoulder and hip.
Does the gel foam actually sleep cool?
Gel infusion helps a little compared with plain memory foam, but this is still a foam-over-coil bed and it traps some heat. Hot sleepers should expect a warmer bed than latex or an open-cell foam mattress.
What sheets fit a 14-inch king mattress?
You need deep-pocket sheets rated for at least 14 to 16 inches. Standard 12-inch sheets will pull off the corners.
How does it compare with an all-foam mattress?
The coil core gives more bounce, better edge support and easier movement than all-foam. All-foam beds generally isolate motion better and can feel softer.
Does it need a box spring?
No. It works on a platform bed, slatted frame or adjustable base. A box spring is optional and mainly adds height.
When is the best time to buy it?
Mattress prices drop around major holiday sales and during back-to-school events. Watch the price history rather than buying on impulse.
