- Is the Novilla 12-inch mattress firm or soft?
- Novilla rates it medium. It has a soft memory foam top over firmer support foam, so it feels plush at first and settles into a medium feel.
- Does the gel memory foam actually sleep cool?
- Gel infusion helps compared with plain memory foam, but it is still an all-foam bed. Hot sleepers should expect a warmer sleep than on a hybrid with coils.
- Does it need a box spring?
- No. It works on a platform bed, slatted frame or adjustable base. A box spring is optional and mainly adds height.
- How long does it take to expand after unboxing?
- Most of the expansion happens within 24 to 48 hours. It may take a few days to reach its full 12-inch height.
- Is $289 a good price for this queen mattress?
- Yes. At $289 at Lowe's as of November 7, 2026, it is near the bottom of the gel memory foam queen market, where most models run several hundred dollars more.
- What is included with the mattress?
- The mattress ships compressed and rolled in one box. A frame, box spring and bedding are not included.
