Is the nuLOOM Natural Jute Rug soft enough for a bedroom?

No. Jute is a coarse fiber, and at 0.35 inches thick this rug has little cushioning. It suits living rooms, dining rooms and entryways better than bedrooms.

Does this jute rug shed?

Yes, some shedding is normal for tufted jute, especially in the first weeks. Regular vacuuming without a beater bar helps, and shedding usually settles over time.

Can I put the nuLOOM Natural Jute Rug on hardwood floors?

Yes, but use a rug pad. Jute can scratch or discolor some finishes, and a pad also keeps the rug from sliding and adds a little cushion.

How do I clean a jute rug?

Vacuum regularly and blot spills right away with a dry cloth. Avoid soaking it or using wet shampoo, since moisture can stain jute and cause it to warp or mildew.

What sizes does the nuLOOM Natural Jute Rug come in?

nuLOOM sells this rug in several standard rectangular sizes, from small accent rugs to large room sizes. Check the specific listing for the size you need before ordering.

Our take on the nuLOOM Natural Jute Rug

The nuLOOM Natural Jute Rug is a handmade, tufted rectangular rug in undyed jute with a subtle spot pattern. At 0.35 inches thick it is a low-pile, flat-weave style that suits living rooms, dining areas and entryways. Jute is durable and affordable but coarse underfoot and not soft enough for bedrooms. It rates 3.9 out of 5 from 155 ratings, so most owners are satisfied but a notable share report shedding and shedding-related complaints.
