Is a handheld frother worth it over a countertop frother?

For one cup at a time, yes. A handheld gives thinner foam than a steam or pump frother but costs far less and takes up no counter space.

Does it froth cold milk?

It can, but cold and high-fat milks foam less. Warm milk or a lower-fat milk gives the best results.

What milk works best?

Skim and 2% milk foam most reliably. Whole milk and plant milks vary, so whisk a little longer.

Run the whisk in warm soapy water, then rinse. Do not submerge the handle.

When is the price lowest?

Only one store lists it new, at $24.38 at Wayfair as of November 8, 2026, so there is little discounting to wait for.
