Is the Stroke Lab V-Line CS worth it?

It is a solid choice for golfers who want a stable center-shafted mallet with a weighted shaft. Used prices make it a low-risk way to try the Stroke Lab feel before buying new.

How does it differ from the standard V-Line?

The CS is center-shafted with no offset, while the standard V-Line has a plumber's neck and offset. The CS suits a straight-back, straight-through stroke; the standard model suits a slight arc.

What length and grip does it come in?

The listed spec is 35 inches with an oversize Stroke Lab pistol grip. Some used listings, including ones from Japan, are 34 inches, so check the length before buying.

Does it include a head cover?

No. The putter ships without a head cover, so budget for one if you want to protect the finish.

Is it right for a beginner?

The heavy mallet head and alignment lines are forgiving for newer golfers. The center shaft and no offset take some getting used to if you have played offset blades.

Used Japanese listings on eBay tend to be the lowest prices. Watch for auctions ending on weekdays and factor in shipping time from Japan.

What do buyers say about the Odyssey Stroke Lab V-Line CS?

Buyers like: Fast delivery, often about a week from Japan; Condition better than described or photographed; Well packaged. Common complaints: Packaging could be a little better; One buyer reported slow dispatch and slow postal delivery.

Our take on the Odyssey Stroke Lab V-Line CS

The Odyssey Stroke Lab V-Line CS is a center-shafted mallet putter with a 365-gram head, 3 degrees of loft and a 70-degree lie. Its Stroke Lab shaft moves weight from the steel shaft into the head and grip, which Odyssey designed to steady the stroke. The center-shaft, no-offset setup suits golfers who want a face-balanced, straight-back-straight-through stroke. It ships without a head cover, and used examples from Japan are common on the resale market.
