Is the OluKai Tuahine really waterproof?

Yes. The upper and footbed are waterproof full-grain leather, and the outsole is Wet Grip Rubber, so the sandal is made for wet wear. Prolonged soaking still calls for air drying.

How does the Tuahine fit compared to other OluKai sandals?

It runs true to size for most men, with a snug thong fit across the top of the foot. If you are between sizes or have a wide foot, size up.

Does it need a break-in period?

The leather footbed softens with wear, and many owners report a few days of stiffness before it molds to the foot. Wearing it briefly at first helps.

Is the sole safe on a boat?

Yes. The non-marking Wet Grip Rubber outsole is designed for traction on wet surfaces and will not scuff decks.

When is the Tuahine cheapest?

The best new price seen is $92.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026. Sandal prices often dip at the end of summer and around holiday sales.
