Is the Optoma ML1080UST bright enough for a living room?

At 650 ISO lumens it is best in a dark or dim room. Daylight or strong lamps will noticeably wash out the image, even on a 60-inch screen.

How far from the wall does it need to be?

The 0.18:1 throw ratio gives a 100-inch image from under 10 inches away. A 60-inch image needs even less distance, so it can sit on a shelf or the floor right below the wall.

No. The native resolution is 1080p at 60 Hz. It accepts HDR10 content but displays it at 1080p.

Expect the projector, a power supply and a remote. Check the listing for the exact bundle, since some sellers add cables or a carry case.

Is $699 a good price?

That is the best new price across 8 stores as of November 5, 2026. Compare it against the recent range before buying, since portable laser projectors often drop during sales events.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes, thanks to the built-in battery and speaker, but only after dark. Its low brightness means any ambient light will hurt the picture.
