Will this fit my 12-inch saw?

Only if your bar takes 3/8-inch low-profile pitch, 1.3 mm (0.050-inch) gauge and 45 drive links. Check the numbers stamped on your bar or in the manual before buying.

That is a typical price for a branded 45-link chain. It is fair if it fits; if you can sharpen, a spare at this price saves trips to a shop.

Can I use it on a 14-inch bar?

No. A 14-inch bar usually needs more drive links, so the chain will be too short. Match the link count to your bar.

Does it come sharpened and ready to install?

Yes, new chain comes sharpened. You still need to check tension after the first few cuts and adjust as it stretches.

How often should I replace the chain?

Replace it when sharpening no longer holds an edge, cutters are worn short, or the chain no longer stays tensioned. Sharpening every few tanks of fuel or charges extends life.

What tools do I need to install it?

A scrench or the bar nuts tool for your saw, plus gloves. Loop the chain over the bar with cutters facing forward, then set tension so the chain snaps back against the bar.

Our take on the Oregon 12" Chainsaw Chain

This is a 12-inch replacement saw chain from Oregon, a long-standing maker of cutting chain. It uses a 3/8-inch low-profile pitch, 1.3 mm (0.050-inch) gauge and 45 drive links, the common setup for 12-inch bars on small electric and battery saws. It is a consumable part, not a saw, so the only real question is fit. At $25.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.
