Our take on the Outsunny Set of 6 Outdoor Seat Cushions Machine Washable Covers Water Repellent Dark Grey

This is a six-piece set of outdoor seat cushions from Outsunny in dark grey, with water-repellent covers that zip off for machine washing. Each cushion is a simple square pad meant for patio, garden or dining chairs rather than deep lounge seating. It is a budget refresh option: the set covers six chairs for roughly the price of one mid-range branded cushion, and pricing on multi-pack cushion sets tends to dip outside the spring and early summer buying season.

Best forRefreshing a six-chair patio or garden dining set on a budgetHouseholds that want washable covers for muddy or dusty outdoor chairs
Renters or short-term setups where cheap replaceable cushions make sense
Adding light padding to hard metal or plastic outdoor chairs
Pros
  • Six cushions in one purchase, enough for a standard dining set
  • Covers are water repellent and machine washable
  • Zip-off covers make cleaning spills and pet mess easier
  • Dark grey hides dirt and suits most patio furniture
  • Low cost per cushion compared with branded single pads
Cons
  • Thin padding, so not comfortable for long sitting sessions
  • Ties and fit vary; cushions can slide on smooth metal chairs
  • Water repellent is not waterproof, so heavy rain soaks through seams
  • Fabric and foam are basic and may flatten within a season or two
  • Dark grey fades in strong direct sun over time

Questions and answers

Are these cushions waterproof?
No. The covers are water repellent, which handles light rain and spills, but water can get through seams and in heavy or prolonged rain. Bring them in or store them when storms are forecast.
Can the covers really go in the washing machine?
Yes, the covers zip off and are machine washable. Use a gentle cycle and cool or lukewarm water, and let them air dry rather than tumble drying, which can shrink the fabric.
Will they fit my patio chairs?
They suit standard dining-style chairs with a roughly square seat. Measure your seat width and depth before buying, since these are flat pads without a contoured back and oversized or curved chairs will not fit well.
Are they comfortable enough for long dinners?
For short meals, yes. The padding is thin, so for hours of sitting or for lounging, a thicker cushion or a seat pad with a back is a better choice.
How do these compare with branded cushions?
They cost far less per cushion but use thinner foam and simpler fabric. If you want cushions to last several seasons, a branded set is the safer buy; for a cheap refresh, this set is fine.
When is the best time to buy?
Outdoor cushion prices usually fall at the end of summer and in winter clearance. Buying in late season or off-season is typically cheaper than at the start of spring.
