Is the Lumix G7 still worth buying in 2026?

Only at a low price. It still delivers 4K video and good handling, but newer Micro Four Thirds bodies add stabilization and better autofocus. At $634.95 new at eBay as of November 4, 2026, a used or newer model is usually the better buy.

Does the G7 have image stabilization?

No. The body has no stabilization, so you rely on the kit lens's optical stabilization or a stabilized lens.

The kit includes the G7 body, the 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, battery, charger and strap. Check listings for a memory card, since none is included.

Can the G7 shoot 4K video?

Yes, up to 4K at 30p and 24p in MP4 or AVCHD. It also has 4K Photo modes that save 8MP stills from video.

What lenses fit the G7?

Any Micro Four Thirds lens. The kit 14-42mm takes 46mm filters and covers 28-84mm equivalent.

When is the G7 cheapest?

Prices drop around Black Friday and when newer Lumix models launch. Used copies are consistently cheaper than new stock.

Our take on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 is a Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera sold with a 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 kit zoom (28-84mm equivalent). It was one of the first affordable cameras to shoot 4K video, and it adds a 1/16000s electronic shutter, focus peaking and 4K Photo modes that pull 8MP stills from video. The body is not weather-sealed and has no in-body stabilization. The best new price is $634.95 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with 3 stores listing it new; that is high for a camera this old, so used and open-box copies usually cost far less.
