Our take on the Pedigree Complete Adult Dry Dog Food

Pedigree Complete Adult Dry Dog Food is a budget dry kibble for adult dogs, sold here in a 3 lb bag. It is built around digestive health, with whole grains and a fiber blend, and it is one of the cheapest mainstream options per pound. The 3 lb size is a trial or small-dog bag, so the per-pound cost runs higher than the large bags most owners buy.

Questions and answers

Is Pedigree Complete Adult good for a dog with a sensitive stomach?
It is not a sensitive-stomach formula. It has added fiber for digestive health, but it contains corn, wheat and soy, which some sensitive dogs do poorly on. Introduce it slowly over a week and watch stools.
How long does a 3 lb bag last?
For a 20 lb dog eating about 1.5 cups a day, a 3 lb bag lasts roughly a week to ten days. Small dogs under 10 lb get closer to two to three weeks.
Is this the same as Pedigree Complete Nutrition?
Yes, Complete Adult is the standard Pedigree adult maintenance line. The 3 lb bag is just a smaller package of the same kibble.
Can puppies eat this food?
No. It is formulated for adult dogs only. Puppies need a growth diet with different calcium and calorie levels.
What is in the bag?
Just the dry kibble in a resealable-style bag. No wet food, treats or scoop are included.
When is it cheapest?
Large bags bring the lowest cost per pound, and multi-buy or subscription pricing usually beats the 3 lb bag. The 3 lb size is for trial, not value.
