Our take on the Performax 20-Volt Cordless 1/2" Impact Wrench Kit

The Performax 20-Volt Cordless 1/2" Impact Wrench Kit is a battery-powered impact wrench rated at 750 ft-lb of maximum torque, sold as a kit with a lithium-ion battery. That torque figure is high for a 20V class tool, putting it in the range of mid-tier cordless wrenches used for lug nuts and suspension work. Its only recorded daily price so far is $86.99, so there is no recent range to compare against yet.

Pros
  • 750 ft-lb rating is strong for a 20V tool
  • 1/2-inch drive fits common impact sockets and lug nuts
  • Cordless lithium-ion design works away from outlets
  • Kit format includes the battery, so it runs out of the box
  • Low price for the torque class
Cons
  • Performax is a house brand with limited service and parts support
  • Only one battery is typical of kits at this price
  • 750 ft-lb is a peak rating; sustained torque will be lower
  • No specs given for speed, weight or charge time
  • Battery and charger compatibility is limited to the Performax line

Questions and answers

Is 750 ft-lb enough for lug nuts?
Yes for most passenger cars and light trucks, whose lug nuts are usually tightened to 80–150 ft-lb. Loosening rusted or over-torqued fasteners is where a higher-torque or corded tool helps.
Does the kit include a battery and charger?
It is sold as a kit, which normally means a lithium-ion battery is included. Confirm whether a charger is in the box before buying, since kit contents vary by seller.
Is it worth it at $86.99?
$86.99 at Distritech as of October 31, 2026 is low for a 750 ft-lb cordless impact wrench. The trade-off is a house brand with less support than DeWalt, Milwaukee or Makita.
Will it fit my existing sockets?
It uses a 1/2-inch drive, the most common size for impact sockets. Use impact-rated sockets, not chrome hand sockets, which can crack under impact load.
Can I use other brands' 20V batteries?
No. Performax batteries and chargers are specific to its own 20V line, so you cannot share packs with other brands.
When is it cheapest?
The only recorded daily price is $86.99 on October 31, 2026. Watch for holiday tool sales, when house-brand kits are often discounted further.
Is the Performax 20-Volt Cordless 1/2" Impact Wrench Kit at its lowest price?
