Is the President XT worth it over the standard President?

The XT adds a carbon body, machined aluminum gear and a sealed drag over the base President. If you fish in wet or sandy conditions, the sealed drag is the main reason to pay more.

What size line and fish is the size 40 built for?

It holds 320 yards of 10 lb braid and is aimed at trout and similar freshwater species. The 6 lb max drag suits light line, not big game.

Can I use it in saltwater?

The sealed drag helps, but the rest of the reel is not marketed as fully saltwater-sealed. Rinse it after saltwater use and expect more maintenance than a dedicated saltwater reel.

Does it work for left-handed anglers?

Yes. The reel converts between right- and left-hand retrieve.

What comes in the box?

The reel only. Rod, line and tools are not included.
