Is this the right bulb for a 2000-2003 Lexus RX300?

Yes. The RX300 uses D2R low-beam bulbs, and this is the D2R fitment. Check your housing label or old bulb before ordering.

Do I need to replace both bulbs?

It is recommended. Xenon bulbs dim with age, so a single new bulb can make the two sides look mismatched in color and brightness.

Is this an upgrade over stock?

No. It is an OE-type replacement with stock output and color. Brighter results require a different bulb type, which these housings do not take.

One D2R xenon bulb. No ballast, igniter or wiring is included, and none is needed if your existing parts work.

The best new price was $39.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026. D2R bulbs rarely see deep discounts, so watch for small drops around auto parts sales.

Our take on the Philips D2R Xenon HID Headlight Bulb (85126)

The Philips 85126 is a D2R xenon HID low-beam bulb, the OE-style replacement for 2000-2003 Lexus RX300 headlights. D2R bulbs use a shielded arc so they work in reflector housings without blinding oncoming traffic. Philips is one of the original HID suppliers, so this is a like-for-like swap rather than an upgrade. At $39.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the low end of what a single genuine D2R bulb costs.
