Is the PS5 Slim Digital worth it over the disc version?

Only if you never buy discs. The disc model usually costs less and plays used and rental discs, while this one locks you to PlayStation Store downloads.

How much storage does it have?

It ships with a 1TB SSD, roughly 850GB usable after the system software. You can add a compatible NVMe M.2 drive later.

Does it play all PS5 games?

Yes. Every digital PS5 game works, and most PS4 games are playable through backward compatibility. Disc-only titles are not supported.

What comes in the box?

The console, one DualSense wireless controller, an HDMI cable, a power cord and a horizontal stand. A vertical stand is sold separately.

PS5 prices drop around Black Friday and major Sony promotions. At $749.99 it is at the high end, so waiting for a sale is reasonable.

Can I use it with a 4K TV?

Yes. It outputs up to 4K at 120Hz on supported TVs, with HDR and ray tracing in compatible games.

Our take on the PlayStation PS5 Slim Digital Console Kit 962125574M

The PS5 Slim Digital Edition is Sony's disc-drive-free revision of the PS5, about 30% smaller than the original and sold with 1TB of SSD storage. It plays the same PS5 library at up to 4K/120Hz, with ray tracing, 3D audio and the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. It has no disc drive, so all games are bought and downloaded through PlayStation Network. At $749.99 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range; the disc version and older stock often sell for less.
