Is PondFirst worth it over a cheaper dechlorinator?

It costs more per gallon than basic chlorine-only removers, but it also handles chloramines and ammonia. If your tap water uses chloramine, the extra coverage is the reason to pay for it.

How much water does one container treat?

The 500 ml bottle treats up to 5,000 gallons, and the label lists coverage up to 240,000 gallons for the concentrated formula. Match the dose to the volume you are changing, not the whole pond.

Can I use it in a saltwater or reef tank?

The listing says it suits marine and reef water, but the product is built around pond and freshwater use. For a reef tank, confirm the dose with the label before adding it.

Does it remove ammonia or only chlorine?

It removes chlorine and chloramines and detoxifies ammonia. Detoxified ammonia still shows on some tests, so test again after 24 hours.

When is the price lowest?
