Our take on the Portworld 4K 64MP Compact Digital Camera with Autofocus, 18X Digital Zoom, 2.4-Inch Screen, Flash, 32GB TF Card, MP3 Player, White

The Portworld 4K 64MP is a budget point-and-shoot that claims 64MP stills, 4K video, autofocus and 18x digital zoom in a small white body with a 2.4-inch screen, built-in flash and Wi-Fi. It ships with a 32GB TF card and includes an MP3 player mode, which is unusual for a camera. The 64MP figure comes from software interpolation on a much smaller sensor, and the 18x zoom is digital, so expect soft detail and noise in low light. It is an entry-level camera for casual snapshots, not a replacement for a phone camera or a DSLR.

Questions and answers

Is the 64MP resolution real?
No. The sensor is much smaller than 64MP; the camera upscales images in software. Expect detail closer to a basic phone camera, not a 64MP mirrorless.
Is the 18x zoom optical?
No, it is digital zoom. Zooming crops and enlarges the image, so photos get softer and noisier as you zoom in.
Is it better than a phone camera?
Usually not for stills. A recent phone has a larger sensor and better processing. This camera makes sense mainly as a cheap, dedicated camera for kids or as a gift.
What comes in the box?
The camera, a 32GB TF card, and the usual accessories such as a strap and charging cable. Check the listing for the exact bundle before buying.
Can it record video?
Yes, it records 4K video. Quality is basic and stabilization is limited, so steady hands or a tripod help.
When is it cheapest?
Budget point-and-shoots like this often drop around back-to-school and holiday sales. Check the price history before buying.
