Our take on the Poulan Pro 2300W Portable Inverter Generator

The Poulan Pro 2300W is a portable gasoline inverter generator with a pull-cord start, four outlets and a claimed 12.5-hour run time at a rated 57 dB. It is aimed at home backup and light job-site use, and its compact 17.9 x 11.6 x 17.9 in frame keeps it easy to carry. At $379.99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the only new price we track, so there is no recent range to compare against. It is not carb-compliant and carries no NRTL listing, which matters if you plan to use it in California or need a certified unit for inspections.

  • Compact and light enough for one person to move
Cons

Questions and answers

Is the Poulan Pro 2300W good for powering a fridge?
It can run a typical fridge, but 2300W peak leaves little headroom for the compressor surge plus other loads. Run the fridge alone when it cycles on.
How loud is it really?
Poulan Pro rates it at 57 dB, which is quiet for a gas generator and roughly conversation level at close range. Expect it to get louder under heavy load.
Can I use it in California?
No. The specs list it as not carb-compliant, so it does not meet California emissions rules for sale or use there.
Does it have electric start?
No. It is pull-cord start only, so you start it by hand each time.
What can 2300W run at once?
Small loads like lights, a fan, a TV, phone chargers and a laptop together, or one small appliance at a time. It will not run a central AC or a large power tool.
Is $379.99 a good price?
It is the only new price we track as of November 5, 2026, at Walmart, so there is no recent low to compare it to. Compare it against other 2200-2300W inverter generators before deciding.
Where is the Poulan Pro 2300W Portable Inverter Generator cheapest?
At Walmart, for $379.99, as of our latest check.
