Our take on the PRIMROSE 24k Gold Plated Diamond Cut Snake Chain Necklace

A thin 18-inch snake chain from PRIMROSE, made of sterling silver plated in 24k yellow gold with a diamond-cut finish that gives it a faceted sparkle. At 1 mm wide and 3.15 g, it is a light, minimal piece meant for everyday layering. The best new price is $19.20 at Kohl's as of November 6, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no recent price range to compare against.

Best forShoppers wanting a gold look without solid-gold costEveryday wear and layering with other chainsA small gift under $25Anyone who prefers a fine 1 mm chain over a bold one

Pros

Diamond-cut finish reflects light more than a plain snake chain
Sterling silver core with 24k gold plating at a low price
Slim 1 mm profile layers well and sits flat on the neck
18-inch length suits most necklines
Spring-ring clasp is simple to fasten alone

Cons

Gold plating on a $19 chain is thin and will wear with daily use
1 mm width is delicate and can kink if pulled
Snake chains show scratches and dull over time
Only one store sells it new, so price comparison is limited

Questions and answers

Is this real gold?: No. It is sterling silver with a 24k gold plating, so the gold is a surface layer, not solid gold throughout.
Will the plating wear off?: Plating on a chain this inexpensive wears over time, especially with sweat, perfume and friction. Take it off before showering or swimming to make it last longer.
Can I wear it every day?: Yes, but a 1 mm snake chain is delicate. Avoid pulling on it and store it flat so it does not kink.
What length is it?: It is 18 inches, which sits around the collarbone on most women.
What is the clasp?: A spring-ring clasp, which is easy to open and close one-handed.
Is $19.20 a good price?: It is the only new price listed, $19.20 at Kohl's as of November 6, 2026. For gold-plated sterling silver, that is a typical low-end price rather than a markdown.
Where is the PRIMROSE 24k Gold Plated Diamond Cut Snake Chain Necklace cheapest?: At Kohl's, for $19.20, 76% off, as of our latest check.
