Our take on the Project Hail Mary: A Novel

Project Hail Mary is Andy Weir's 2021 science-fiction novel, out in paperback from Ballantine Books since October 4, 2022. It follows Ryland Grace, a lone astronaut who wakes with amnesia on a ship sent to save a dying Sun, and the alien he learns to work with. Weir's trademark problem-solving drives the plot, with more heart than The Martian. At $5.99 new from alibris as of November 7, 2026, it sits well below the typical new paperback price, with 4 stores offering it new.
