Our take on the Proluxe CSD1515 PA Single Commercial Panini Press

The Proluxe CSD1515 PA is a single-plate commercial panini press with 15-inch grooved cast aluminum plates, a 120V/60Hz draw on a NEMA 5-30P plug, and a 1-year parts and labor warranty. It is built for countertop use in cafes and delis, where one sandwich at a time is enough. Its 19.3 by 24.5 inch footprint takes real counter space. No current price was given for this listing, so check the latest store comparison before buying.

Best for
Cafes and delis with low to moderate sandwich volume
Food trucks and kiosks on 120V power
Operators who want grooved grill marks
Single-operator counters where one plate is enough
Pros
  • Grooved cast aluminum plates heat evenly and give grill marks
  • 15-inch plate width fits large sandwiches and two smaller ones
  • Standard 120V power works in most US outlets
  • 1-year parts and labor warranty
  • Simple single-plate design with few parts to fail
Cons
  • Single plate limits output at busy hours
  • NEMA 5-30P plug needs a 30A circuit, not a standard 20A outlet
  • No listed thermostat range or timer in the specs
  • Heavy 24.5-inch depth eats counter space
  • One-year warranty is shorter than some commercial rivals

Questions and answers

What outlet does the Proluxe CSD1515 need?
It runs on 120V, 60Hz, single phase and uses a NEMA 5-30P plug. That plug needs a 30A circuit, so check your kitchen wiring before buying.
How big a sandwich fits on it?
The grooved cast aluminum plate is 15 inches wide. That fits large subs or two smaller paninis at once.
Is a single-plate press enough for a cafe?
For low to moderate volume, yes. If you sell several sandwiches at peak times, a double-plate press will keep up better.
What is included with the press?
The unit ships as a countertop press with the listed 1-year parts and labor warranty. No price or accessory list was given, so confirm the box contents with the store.
When is the best time to buy it?
Commercial cooking equipment tends to dip during off-season restaurant supply sales and year-end promotions. Compare store prices and check the price history before buying.
