Our take on the PRS CE 24 Special Limited Edition Electric Guitar

The PRS CE 24 Special Limited Edition is a US-made bolt-on electric guitar with a maple top over a mahogany body, a 25-inch scale maple neck and rosewood board, and a hum/single/hum pickup setup. It stands out for its nitro finish and PRS's Pattern Thin-style bolt-on feel, which gives it more snap than the set-neck Custom 24. The best new price is $2,099 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with three stores listing it new.

Best forPlayers who want PRS build quality with a bolt-on neck snapRock and fusion players who use single-coil and humbucker tonesGigging guitarists who want a nitro-finished US core-style instrument
Pros
  • Bolt-on maple neck gives a brighter, snappier attack than set-neck PRS models
  • Hum/single/hum pickups cover humbucker and split single-coil tones
  • Nitro finish ages and resonates differently from poly
  • 25-inch scale is a comfortable middle ground between Fender and Gibson lengths
  • Light at about 7 lb for a solid mahogany/maple body
Cons
  • Limited edition means fewer units and less color choice
  • Nitro finish is softer and more prone to checking and dings
  • No tremolo-locking details or case contents confirmed in the listing
  • Bolt-on construction is not the classic PRS set-neck feel some buyers expect

Questions and answers

Is the PRS CE 24 Special Limited Edition worth $2,099?
At $2,099 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits in US-made PRS territory. If you want a bolt-on PRS with a nitro finish and hum/single/hum pickups, that is a fair price. If you want a set-neck Custom 24, expect to pay more.
How does it differ from the standard CE 24?
The Special Limited Edition adds a nitro finish and a limited run. The core recipe is the same: maple top, mahogany body, 25-inch scale bolt-on maple neck and a hum/single/hum pickup layout.
What pickups does it have?
It uses a humbucker/single/humbucker configuration, so you get full humbucker tones plus split single-coil sounds. That covers clean, crunch and lead work without swapping guitars.
Is the neck comfortable for smaller hands?
The nut is 1 11/16 inches and the scale is 25 inches, which is a middle-ground size most players find comfortable. The bolt-on maple neck has a fast feel, though try one if you are used to a shorter Gibson scale.
What strings and gauge does it ship with?
It comes strung with PRS Signature strings in 10-46 gauge. That is a standard light-medium set suited to rock and general playing.
When is it cheapest?
Limited editions rarely get deep discounts, and the current best new price is $2,099 at eBay as of November 4, 2026. Watch used and open-box listings for lower prices once the run sells out.
Where is the PRS CE 24 Special Limited Edition Electric Guitar cheapest?
At Dave's Guitar Shop, for $2,199.00, 20% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the PRS CE 24 Special Limited Edition Electric Guitar?
Rated 4 out of 5 from 6 ratings.
Where can I buy the PRS CE 24 Special Limited Edition Electric Guitar?
11 stores we checked sell it, including Dave's Guitar Shop, eBay, Island Music, American Musical Supply, The Guitar Sanctuary.
