Is the KC12 worth it over a cheaper QSC K-series speaker?

If you need wide, even coverage and a clean look, the column design is the reason to pay more. For loud bands or DJs who need raw output per dollar, a K-series speaker plus sub is cheaper.

Can I connect a phone or laptop directly?

Yes. It has Bluetooth, a 3.5 mm AUX input and XLR inputs, so a phone, laptop or mixer plugs in without extra gear.

How much does it weigh?

The sub base is the heavy part and needs two people for stairs or long carries. Plan on a cart for regular gigs.

Does it work as a single unit or do I need two?

One column covers a small room or a solo act. For stereo music or a wide stage, two units are the usual setup.

Expect the subwoofer base, the column sections and a power cable. Check the listing for a carry bag, which is usually sold separately.

Column PAs rarely discount deeply. Watch for bundle deals with bags or stands and for end-of-year sales rather than expecting a big markdown.

Our take on the QSC KC12-WH Active 3-Way Column Loudspeaker System

The QSC KC12-WH is an active three-way column PA: a floor-standing subwoofer base with a slim column of drivers on top, driven by 3,000 W of amplification and finished in white. It is aimed at installers and performers who want a clean-looking system that covers a room without separate amps or a mixer rack. It has Bluetooth, AUX and XLR inputs, so phones, laptops and mixers connect directly. The KC12 sits in QSC's premium KC line, well above the K and CP series in price; it is a long-life purchase rather than a budget pick.
