Our take on the Ray-Ban RB3734 Sunglasses

The Ray-Ban RB3734 is a metal-frame sunglass in a rounded, slightly retro shape, sold with polarized gradient lenses and an adjustable bridge. It comes in two lens widths, 56 mm and 59 mm, so it fits a range of face sizes. Ray-Ban's polarized gradient lenses cut glare while staying lighter at the bottom for reading and driving. Shoppers rate it 4.4 out of 5 from 11 ratings.

Best forShoppers who want polarized lenses in a metal frameDrivers who want glare reduction with a lighter lower lensPeople with narrow or wide faces, thanks to two lens widthsAnyone after a retro rounded shape rather than a classic aviator
Pros
  • Polarized lenses cut glare from water, roads and snow
  • Gradient tint stays darker up top and lighter below
  • Adjustable bridge helps the fit on different nose shapes

Cons

  • Metal frames can feel cold and need gentle handling
  • Polarized lenses can darken some car dashboards and phone screens
  • Only 11 ratings so far, so feedback is thin
  • Price varies by store and lens option

Questions and answers

Are the RB3734 lenses polarized?
Yes. The listed lens type is polarized gradient, so they reduce glare while the tint fades from darker at the top to lighter at the bottom.
What is the difference between the 56 mm and 59 mm versions?
They are the same frame in two lens widths. The 59 mm is the wider fit; the 56 mm suits narrower faces. Check the width against a pair you already own.
Is the bridge adjustable?
Yes. The RB3734 has an adjustable bridge, so you can fine-tune how the glasses sit on your nose.
Are these good for driving?
The polarized lenses cut road and dashboard glare, and the lighter lower tint helps you see instruments. Some polarized lenses can darken LCD screens at certain angles.
Is the RB3734 worth it over a classic Ray-Ban aviator?
The RB3734 has a rounder, more retro shape and an adjustable bridge. Pick it if you want that look; pick an aviator if you want the classic teardrop shape.
When is the best time to buy?
Sunglasses usually see the deepest discounts at end of season and around major sale events. Compare store prices and the price history before buying.
What do buyers say about the Ray-Ban RB3734 Sunglasses?
Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 11 ratings.
Where can I buy the Ray-Ban RB3734 Sunglasses?
8 stores we checked sell it, including Cabela's, Designer Frames Outlet, EZContacts.com, farfetch.com, GlassesOnWeb.com.
