The 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro chip is Apple's large-screen pro laptop, aimed at video editors, developers and anyone who needs sustained performance in a portable. It pairs an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU with a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display that runs up to 120Hz, Thunderbolt 5 ports and a six-speaker system. Apple rates battery life at up to 24 hours, and the machine weighs 4.7 lb. This is a refurbished unit, so condition and warranty terms vary by seller; check them before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the M5 Pro worth it over the base M5?
Yes if you edit video, run GPU workloads or keep many apps open. The extra CPU and GPU cores and the Pro's memory bandwidth show up in exports and renders. For web browsing and documents, the base chip is enough.
How much RAM should I get?
24GB suits most photo and video work. Choose 48GB or 64GB if you run virtual machines, large codebases or 8K timelines. Memory is soldered, so decide at purchase.
What is in the box?
The listing states the box contains the 16-inch MacBook Pro. A USB-C power adapter and cable are standard with this model, but confirm with the seller since refurbished bundles vary.
How long does the battery last?
Apple rates it at up to 24 hours, which holds for light web and video use. Heavy editing or compiling cuts that roughly in half.
Does it work with my Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C accessories?
Yes. Thunderbolt 5 ports are backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices, including docks and external SSDs.
When is it cheapest?
Refurbished prices dip around back-to-school season and after new model launches. Compare across stores, since refurbished stock and pricing move independently of Apple's new prices.
What do buyers say about the Refurbished 16-inch MacBook Pro Apple M5 Pro chip with 18‐Core CPU and 20‐Core GPU?
Rated 4.7 out of 5 from 31 ratings.
