The Regency Prefinished Black Fiberglass Entry Door with Sidelights - 60" x 80" Prehung Unit delivers the architectural presence and natural light of a full-width entry system while maintaining the single-panel convenience and everyday functionality that many homeowners prefer over double door configurations. This 10-3-10 configuration combines a 36-inch prefinished black fiberglass door with flanking 10-inch decorative glass panels in an integrated prehung unit that arrives installation-ready with no painting required, creating an expansive, symmetrical entry statement that floods foyers and hallways with welcoming natural light without the operational complexity or furniture clearance limitations of a traditional double door system.
Built as a complete integrated unit with prefinished black fiberglass construction across the door panel and both sidelight frames, the Regency maintains consistent color, finish quality, and dimensional stability that wood entry systems with sidelights cannot match in humidity-variable or coastal climates. Wood door and sidelight assemblies absorb moisture unevenly, causing differential expansion that creates gaps between components, compromises weatherseals, and leads to paint failure where door meets sidelight frames. The Regency's fiberglass construction eliminates these vulnerabilities through material consistency—the door panel and sidelight frames expand and contract identically with temperature changes, maintaining tight weatherseal integrity and uniform appearance year-round. The factory-applied black finish is UV-stabilized across all three components, so your entry maintains seamless color consistency without the fading, chalking, or touch-up painting that plague field-finished door and sidelight combinations exposed to direct sun.
The prehung configuration includes a weather-sealed fiberglass jamb system spanning the full 60-inch width, with the 36-inch center door pre-hung on hinges, both 10-inch sidelights factory-installed as fixed glass panels, integrated weatherstripping at all perimeter points, and pre-drilled lockset and handle bores in the door panel for streamlined hardware installation. This complete-assembly approach ensures precise alignment between all three components, consistent sightlines, and reliable weather performance that's nearly impossible to achieve when installing a door and adding separate sidelight frames on-site. The decorative glass in both the door panel and flanking sidelights creates balanced light distribution across your entry while maintaining street-side privacy, offering significantly more natural illumination than a standard single door while avoiding the operational considerations of choosing which panel to open first that come with double door systems.
For homeowners comparing the three Regency configurations, the sidelight version provides the ideal middle ground when you want the wide, impressive aesthetic of the 60-inch double door but prefer the simplicity of a single operable panel for daily use. Unlike the Regency double door where both 30-inch panels open and you must choose left or right-hand active configuration, the sidelight version gives you a full-width 36-inch door—wide enough for furniture moves and accessibility needs—while the fixed sidelight panels add architectural interest and light without requiring operation, maintenance on additional hinges and locksets, or coordination between two door panels. Compared to the standard Regency single door without sidelights, this configuration delivers dramatically more natural light to interior spaces and creates the symmetrical, upscale entry appearance that distinguishes custom homes from builder-grade construction, all while fitting the same 60-inch rough opening as the double door option.
The Regency Prefinished Black Fiberglass Entry Door with Sidelights represents the perfect solution for homeowners who want the architectural statement and light transmission of a wide entry system without compromising the everyday convenience, security simplicity, and operational ease of a single-panel door. With factory-finished consistency across all components, integrated weathersealing, and fiberglass durability that outlasts wood by decades, this door and sidelight system delivers premium curb appeal and long-term performance for discerning homeowners who refuse to choose between aesthetics and practicality.
