- Is 400W enough to run a cabin?
- It covers lights, a fan, a laptop and a small fridge in good sun. Anything with a compressor or heating element will drain 2.4 kWh quickly.
- Can I add lithium batteries later?
- Yes, but check that the included charge controller has a lithium profile, or plan to replace it. Mixing lead-acid and lithium on one bank is not advised.
- How much power does it make per day?
- Expect roughly 1.6 to 2 kWh on a clear day, less in winter or with shade. That is about 130 to 170 amp-hours at 12V.
- What is in the box?
- Four 100W panels, a 40A charge controller, mounting brackets, cables and 2.4 kWh of 12V batteries. An inverter is not included.
- Can I expand the system?
- You can add panels up to the controller's 40A limit, roughly 500 to 520W at 12V. More than that needs a larger controller.
- When is it cheapest?
- Renogy discounts kits around Black Friday and spring solar sales. At $1,899.99 at Renogy as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so watch for seasonal drops.
