Questions and answers

Is 40% DEET strong enough for ticks?
Yes. 40% DEET is a high concentration and the label lists ticks among the pests it repels. Apply to exposed skin and to clothing edges such as cuffs, socks and collars, following the label.
How long does one application last?
The label claims up to 8 hours of protection. Sweating, swimming and heavy rain shorten that, so reapply as the label directs.
Can I use it on kids?
Follow the label age limits and apply to your own hands first, then to the child's exposed skin. Keep it away from eyes, mouth and hands, and do not let young children spray it themselves.
Will it damage my gear?
DEET can soften or mark plastics, synthetic fabrics, watch crystals and painted surfaces. Spray clothing and gear cautiously and keep it off treated or delicate materials.
What is in the four-pack?
Four 8.125 oz aerosol cans, about 32.5 oz total. That is roughly a full season for one regular outdoor user.
When is it cheapest?
Multipacks like this tend to dip outside peak summer bug season, in late fall and winter, and during outdoor-gear sales. Compare the per-ounce price across stores before buying.
What do buyers say about the Repel Sportsmen Max Formula Insect Repellent 40% DEET, 8.125 oz (4 pack)?
Rated 4.5 out of 5 from 2,100 ratings.
