Is this lid worth $49.99?

If your EcoNova can's lid or sensor has failed, yes: it is far less than a new 80 L sensor bin. If the can itself is worn out, put the money toward a new one.

Will it fit my EcoNova bin?

It is made for the EK9578MMT-80L 80 L stainless steel sensor can and is listed as also fitting the 50 L and 30+30 L EcoNova bins. Check your model number on the can's label first.

Does it include the sensor and battery compartment?

The box contains the replacement lid only. The sensor assembly is part of the lid, so a failed sensor is fixed by this swap.

Is it available in other colors?

This listing is the matte black version, SKU 9578MBS-80L-LID. Match it to your can's finish.

Only one store, Home by EKO, lists it new at $49.99 as of November 4, 2026, so there is no lower price to wait for right now.

Our take on the Replacement Lid for EcoNova

This is a matte black replacement lid for EcoNova motion sensor trash cans, sold by the manufacturer EKO. It is built for the 80 L stainless steel sensor bin (model EK9578MMT-80L) and is also listed as fitting the 50 L and 30+30 L EcoNova bins. At $49.99 at Home by EKO as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no cheaper alternative to compare against. Buy it if your original lid's sensor or hinge has failed and you want to keep the can rather than replace it.
