Is a 100 ft retractable reel worth it?

If your spigot is far from the garden, yes. One wall mount covers most of a typical lot, and the rewind saves coiling by hand. For small yards a 50 ft reel is cheaper and lighter.

Does the 1/2-inch hose hurt water pressure?

It flows less than a 5/8-inch hose over 100 feet, so sprinklers and pressure washers may run weaker. For hand watering and nozzles it is fine.

How does the auto-rewind work?

Pull the hose out to the length you want and it locks. Give it a short tug to release the lock and the spring winds it back in. Guide it onto the spool evenly or it can jam.

What comes in the box?

The reel with 100 ft of hose, a 9-mode spray nozzle, and mounting hardware. A mounting bracket and screws are included; you supply the tools.

Spring is peak season for hose reels, so prices tend to dip in fall and winter. The current $107.99 at Lowe's as of November 4, 2026 is already near the low end of the range.
