Will these fit my classic car's dash?

They need about 1.37 inches of mounting depth behind the 4x6 opening. Measure the cavity before buying; the included bracket helps with many GM vehicles.

Do I need an amplifier?

No. At 86dB sensitivity and 25W RMS, they run fine off a stock or modest aftermarket head unit. A large amp would exceed their rating.

How much bass do they produce?

Response starts at 80Hz, so expect midbass only. Add a subwoofer or larger speakers if you want low end.

What comes in the box?

A pair of speakers and a mounting bracket for GM vehicles. Speaker grills are included.

Are they better than the stock speakers?

Usually yes for aged factory speakers, mainly in clarity and highs. They are not a big upgrade for volume or bass.

When is the best time to buy?

Prices on car audio vary by store; check the price history chart to see whether the current offer is near its low.

Our take on the RetroSound Premium 4"x6" Ultra-thin 2-way Speaker Pair

The RetroSound Premium R-463N is a pair of 4x6-inch two-way car speakers built for classic cars and trucks with shallow mounting space. The neodymium magnet keeps mounting depth to 1.37 inches, and the silk tweeters and Santoprene surrounds aim for smooth highs and clean midrange. Power handling is modest at 25 watts RMS and 50 watts peak, so they suit factory or low-power aftermarket radios rather than big amplifiers.
