Questions and answers

Is it worth it over a wired lantern?
Yes if you want light without an electrician or new wiring. A wired lantern gives steadier brightness, but this one installs in minutes and costs nothing to run.
How long does it stay lit after dark?
Expect a few hours at full brightness after a full sunny day, longer when dimmed. Shaded mounting spots shorten runtime noticeably.
Can I replace the LED or battery?
The LED is integrated and not user-replaceable. The battery is internal, so plan on replacing the whole lantern when it stops holding a charge.
What's in the box?
The lantern with its integrated solar panel and LED, plus mounting hardware. No wiring, bulbs or separate charger are included.
Where should I mount it for best charging?
A spot with direct sun for most of the day, such as a south-facing fence post or porch rail. Keep it clear of roof overhangs and tree shade.
When is it cheapest?
Solar outdoor lighting tends to drop in late summer and around Black Friday. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
What do buyers say about the RIDALUX 7.4" Integrated Dimmable LED Solar Outdoor Lantern?
