Is the Ring Battery Doorbell 2K Plus worth it over the 1080p model?

Yes if you want sharper detail for faces and plates. The 2K sensor is the main upgrade, and the head-to-toe view is the same. Expect somewhat shorter battery life than the 1080p version.

Do I need a Ring Protect plan?

For live view and alerts, no. For recorded video, history and sharing clips, yes. Ring Protect is billed per camera or per household, so check current plan tiers before buying.

How long do the batteries last?

Ring rates the doorbell for months per charge under average use, but busy streets and cold weather cut that. The Outdoor Cam 2K behaves similarly. Recharging is via USB.

The bundle includes the Battery Doorbell 2K Plus, the Outdoor Cam 2K, rechargeable batteries, mounting hardware and USB charging cables. A chime or Ring Bridge is not included.

Does it work with Alexa?

Yes. You can pull up live view on an Echo Show or Fire TV and get announcements when someone rings or motion is detected. Full features need the Ring app.

When is the bundle cheapest?

Ring discounts bundles around Prime Day, Black Friday and back-to-school. Buying both cameras together is usually cheaper than buying each alone.

Our take on the Ring Battery Doorbell 2K Plus + Outdoor Cam 2K

This is a Ring bundle pairing the Battery Doorbell 2K Plus with an Outdoor Cam 2K, both in white and both working with Amazon Alexa. The doorbell gives a 2K head-to-toe view of visitors and runs on a removable battery, so no wiring is needed. The Outdoor Cam 2K adds a second 2K viewpoint for a driveway, yard or side gate. Ring sells these as a two-camera starter setup for a house, and the bundle price usually undercuts buying the two separately.
