Our take on the Rongta F82a Wireless A4 Thermal Printer

The Rongta F82a is a compact wireless printer that uses thermal paper instead of ink or toner, aimed at printing A4 documents, photos and notes at home. Its main draw is the inkless design and low entry price: $28.49 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, the only new price listed. That is a very low outlay for a printer, but it is a niche device rather than a full office machine.

Cons
  • Thermal printing needs special thermal A4 paper, not plain paper

  • Only one store lists a new price, so comparison is thin
  • Photo quality will not match a dedicated photo printer

Questions and answers

Is the Rongta F82a worth it?
At $28.49 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it is cheap to try if you mostly print short-lived documents and notes. It is not a substitute for an inkjet or laser if you need archival or plain-paper printing.
Does it print on regular paper?
No. Thermal printers like this need thermal paper, so standard A4 copy paper will not produce an image. Check that you can source A4 thermal paper before buying.
How does it compare with a cheap inkjet printer?
An inkjet prints on plain paper and holds color better over time, but you pay for ink. The F82a avoids ink costs but limits you to thermal paper and fading prints.
Does it work with phones and laptops?
It is a wireless printer, so it is meant to print from devices over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Confirm the app and driver support for your phone or computer before relying on it.
What is in the box?
Expect the printer itself and basic setup items such as a cable and starter paper. Check the listing for the exact bundle, since starter paper quantities vary.
When is it cheapest?
Only one new price is listed, $28.49 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, so there is little price history to time a purchase. Watch for holiday sales if you can wait.
Where is the Rongta F82a Wireless A4 Thermal Printer cheapest?
At Walmart, for $28.49, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Rongta F82a Wireless A4 Thermal Printer?
