How often do I change the filter?

The filter is rated for 200 gallons. At a typical few gallons a day that is several months, but heavy use shortens it. Replace it when flow slows noticeably.

Does it need electricity or plumbing?

No plumbing. It runs on 4x AAA batteries and feeds by gravity, so you can put it anywhere on a counter.

How long does it take to filter a full tank?

At about 2 gallons per hour, the 1-gallon unfiltered top tank takes roughly half an hour to pass through. The 1.5-gallon lower tank holds the finished water.

Is the stainless steel body safe for drinking water?

316L is a food-grade stainless steel used in brewing and dairy equipment. It resists corrosion and does not impart a plastic taste the way some plastic pitchers can.

Is $499 a good price?

Only Rorra lists it new at $499 as of November 6, 2026, so there is no competing price to compare. Whether it is worth it depends on how much you value the steel body and 200-gallon filter life over a cheaper pitcher.

What comes in the box?

The unit ships with its filter and battery compartment; check the listing for whether AAA batteries are included, since many sellers leave them out.

Our take on the Rorra water filter

The Rorra is a gravity-fed countertop water filter in a 316L stainless steel vessel, 17 inches tall and 11 inches across. It holds 2.5 gallons total, with 1 gallon unfiltered up top and 1.5 gallons of filtered water below. Its dual-layer pleated electrokinetic nanofiber filter is rated for 200 gallons at about 2 gallons per hour, and a 4x AAA battery pack runs the filter. At $499 at Rorra as of November 6, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.
